Update on Lake Meadowbank drawdown

Commencement of Hydro Tasmania cloud seeding program
Hydro Tasmania will commence its 2010 cloud seeding season on Wednesday, April 28. The season will continue through to the end of October.

Draw down of Lake Meadowbank
As part of its dam safety program Hydro Tasmania will be lowering the level of Lake Meadowbank to facilitate examination of the spillway gates at the dam to ensure optimum operation. The lake level will be drawn down 6.09 metres (about 20 feet) from full supply level.

Lake Margaret penstock timber to be offered to community
Hydro Tasmania is offering the Tasmanian community the opportunity to purchase timber from the recently demolished upper Lake Margaret woodstave pipeline.
